At Equity Real Estate we know that real estate terms can sometimes be confusing. We are going to share with you some common real estate terms and their meanings to help give you a greater understanding when you are trying to buy or sell a home.

*Title:  evidence that the owner of land is in lawful possession thereof; evidence of ownership.
Example:  Title to land does not merely imply that a person has the right of possession, because one may
have the right to possession and have no title. Title does ordinarily signify rights to possession in
                                   addition to evidence of ownership.

Example:  Abel sold land to Baker. Title to the property was transferred at closing by the deed Baker
                                   received.
